October 21st

Hello and welcome to our first day of Module 2: Photoshop!

To start off the class, I'm going to show a clip of what photoshop can do. It has endless possibilities and is the top program used by professionals around the world. After the video, I'd like you to respond to the following on your blog:

1. What are you looking forward to learning how to do in photoshop?

2. What have you heard are the common things photoshop can do, i.e. "oh, that's definitely photoshopped!" "Just photoshop me in the photo!"

3. Do you think there many be any ethical/social concerns when using an editing program like photoshop? What are these issues? Please answer in paragraph form.

*If you ARE NOT done uploading your final projects from Friday, do that now in lieu of the above questions and you can finish the above questions for homework.

Getting Started With Photoshop:

Today I will introduce you to a basic workflow that you can use for enhancing the overall balance of your images. This is a basic and handy thing to know how to do. We will start with the most important and work our way to the least important: Tonal Adjustments, Colour Balance, Vibrancy.
After the presentation, please edit 3 photos to improve their overall quality. Take your time with this activity and achieve the best version of the photo as possible. You can use your own photos or some from google images but at least one of your edited photos must be once that you took.
