October 8th

Hello,

Today I would like you to finish the work that we did not get to yesterday (setting up our blog, responding to the questions on the blog). If you have not responded to everyone's survey, please do that as well.

Part 2:

The Rule of Thirds

In class we will look a a presentation about the rule of thirds. If you are waiting for the presentation, please research The Rule of Thirds on google. In YOUR OWN WORDS, write a paragraph explaining what the rule of thirds is and why we use it.

(after presentation)

You are going to practise using the rule of thirds by CROPPING photos and improving their composition.
1. Click on each thumbnail to download the full size version of each photo.
2. Use iPhoto to crop each photo in TWO DIFFERENT WAYS using the rule of thirds.
3. Upload your finished photos to your blog with the title "Rule of Thirds".

Once you have finished cropping the above photos, find 2 great example of the rule of thirds using Google Image search and post them to your blog.  Please explain why the photos follow the rule of thirds. For better quality photos, go to advanced search-and change the image size to a min of 1024 x 768. Instead of searching "rule of thirds" trying looking up Ansel Adams or National Geographic for some great examples of photos.

FOR FRIDAY:

If you have time today, please look at your data results from your survey and view a summary of your responses (found by looking at the top of your original Google Form). On your blog, copy and past 3 of the summary charts of questions that you asked people and explain the results. Choose the 3 questions which surprised you the most, and explain why the responses surprised you. Please indicate which chart corresponds with each question.
